Boot modes
Every time H1 powers on, its firmware checks the state of the Upload button and decides which mode to boot into. This check only happens at boot — once running, the mode does not change until the device is power-cycled or reset.

The button is read only once, at boot. Pressing it after the device has already started has no effect on the mode — hold it while plugging the device in, or while pressing Reset, to switch modes.
